The Literature Resource Center from Thompson Gale is a great online database for biographical information, literary criticism, news and book reviews. This resource is available to students, faculty and staff, and is accessible with a student ID number Something About the Author is now online!
WCU CMC REF PN451 .S6 To search see which reference sets contain information about your author, try Gale's Literary Index, which will tell you which volumes and page numbers to consult. Print out your results and bring them to the reference desk for help finding these resources.

The Library Catalog is always a good place to start for both print and online resources. To search for information about your author, try a subject search using your author's last name first. Example: Sendak, Maurice Give it a try: Looking for books by your author? Try a author search using your author's last name first. To find a complete list (bibliography) of books written by your author, try Novelist K-8 Plus, or Novelist Plus. These databases are also good sources for book reviews.
Need to know what literary awards your author has won? Try the Database of Award-Winning Children's Literature (DAWCL). If you are looking for a video of your author talking about his or her work, Google Video Search is a good bet. Hunter Library also has videos of authors.
