What is Ask-a-Librarian?
Ask-a-Librarian is Hunter Library's electronic mail reference service for answering short, factual reference questions. In order to receive a reply, be sure to enter a correct email address. This form may not always work with older browsers, so questions can also be submitted via email to Ask-A-Librarian. To talk to a librarian, please call the Reference Desk at 828-227-7465 or toll-free at 866-928-5424.

Who may use the Ask-a-Librarian service?
The intended audience for the service is students, faculty, staff, and alumni of Western Carolina University. Others are welcome to ask questions concerning Hunter Library collections and services.

What kinds of questions may be asked via the Ask-a-Librarian service?
The Ask-a-Librarian service is designed to answer short, factual, and technical questions concerning research and library use. Questions requiring in-depth assistance may require a phone call or an appointment with a reference librarian.

How soon will Ask-a-Librarian questions be answered?
Questions may be submitted at any time; however, answers will be emailed within 24 hours on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
