Instructions for saving citations to a text file to import into RefWorks (based on ProQuest databases):
1. Open RefWorks and log in.

2. In a separate browser window, go to the database, run the search, put a check in the box next to the desired articles, and click on the “my research” tab at the top of the page.
3. Click the “export citations” button.
4. Select “Download in a format compatible with ProCite, EndNote, Reference Manager, and RefWorks”
5. Click save as on the browser’s File menu and save as a text file
6. When the records display, select and copy the text.
7. Now go back to RefWorks
8. Under "references," select "import"
9. In the box entitled "import data from the following text," paste the copied citations.
10. You may or may not have to select the source from the "import filter/data source" drop down menu and from the database drop down menu.
11. Once the citations are copied and the selections are made, click the "import" button.
12. Click "view last imported folder" to check the citations.
