The Internal Revenue Service announced that the nation’s tax season will begin Monday, Jan. 29, 2018. The filing deadline to submit 2017 tax returns is Tuesday, April 17, 2018, rather than the traditional April 15 date.

Due to funding cuts the IRS will provide the library with limited tax instruction booklets. We will also have limited numbers of forms 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ. Some of these forms have not yet arrived. Please check back with library staff.

The regular tax return filing deadline is April 15 which falls on a Sunday this year. Emancipation holiday (April 16) is being observed on Monday April 16, 2018. Thus, Tax Day is on Tuesday April 17, 2018.
