  • Philosopher's Index
    The premier, comprehensive guide to the literature of philosophy, this index identifies journal articles, books, contributions to anthologies, and book reviews. It covers the major branches of philosophy, including aesthetics, ethics, logic, metaphysics, and the philosophy of related fields such as education, history, law and religion. Philosopher's Index provides links to the full-text journal articles.
  • Project Muse
    A collection of online journals in various disciplines, including philosophy and religion.
  • JSTOR
    for finding scholarly articles. JSTOR does not usually have the most recent years of a journal.
  • Academic Search Complete
    An index to articles in over 12,000 journals (8,500 of them full-text and 7,300 of them peer-reviewed) in all subject areas, including over 300 philosophy journals.
  • Web of Science
    Choose Arts & Humanities Citation Index (1975-present), which covers over 1,144 leading arts and humanities journals. Use the Cited Ref search to find articles that cite a particular author or work.
  • Google Scholar
    This should not be used as your exclusive article searcher, but can provide some useful information, especially if your topic is interdisciplinary. Be sure to set up your scholar preferences to make use of the library's resources. Don't pay for any information, we can get things for you through Interlibrary Loan.
