Welcome to the guide to Cataloging and Metadata at Hunter Library. A library catalog is a searchable interface that contains descriptive records of all the bibliographic resources that a library holds in its collections. Metadata is standardized information about a resource or other type of object. Cataloging is the work of creating metadata records about individual library resources.
