National Hurricane Center Tropical Cyclone Reports
The National Hurricane Center's Tropical Cyclone Reports (formerly called Preliminary Reports) contain comprehensive information on each storm, including synoptic history, meteorological statistics, casualties and damages, and the post-analysis best track (six-hourly positions and intensities).

News sources - particularly local but also national - are invaluable for finding information about regional impacts such as school closures and for first-hand accounts of disasters. This may include local public radio stations and local television stations.
