Access Hunter Library's Print and Digital Book Sources

Hunter Library can provide you with access to our print collection, even if you are taking classes at a different instructional site or online. If you live in Jackson or Buncombe Counties, you may pick up materials at Hunter Library at WCU or Ramsey Library at the University of North Carolina – Asheville (UNCA). Other options for requesting print materials include ABC Express and interlibrary loan. If you need an item mailed to your home, please see instructions in the Using the Library Catalog box below.

Step One: Search the Library Catalog

Library Catalog Keyword Search

The drop-down box that says Western Carolina University can be expanded to WNCLN (ASU, UNCA, & WCU); this searches our entire library network. Any print materials can be delivered to you; we cannot borrow other university's e-books or online resources.

Step Two: Request the Book

  • Use the Request function in the online catalog.
  • Select WCU Distance Learning or WCU Biltmore Park Home Delivery as your pickup location. When requesting materials that must travel through the mail (including between libraries) please expect a delivery time of 1 to 2 weeks.
  • If you have difficulty using the online catalog and need to request an item, call 828-227-7485 or text 828-333-5822 during business hours; please have the author, title, and date ready for our staff.
