Accessing Library Materials

  • Via ABC Express. You may access print materials from the WCU, UNC Asheville, and Appalachian State University (ASU) collections via the ABC Express (Asheville, Boone, Cullowhee) service. Expand your search in the Library Catalog to WNCLN. When you find a print item you want at WCU, UNCA, or ASU, use the Request link, then choose WCU Distance Learning in the drop-down box. The item will be mailed to your home address and we provide a shipping label for return.
  • Via Interlibrary Loan (ILL)ILL is a service to obtain library materials that are not owned by Hunter Library or available from our network libraries at UNC-Asheville and Appalachian State through ABC Express. The item will be mailed to your home address and we provide a shipping label for return.

Librarian Assistance

For Students

Librarians are available to assist you with your research and information needs. Use the chat box to the right to ask a question during Reference Hours. Online research guides for every subject are also available if you are working on a research project.

You can also contact the subject librarian who specializes in your subject field for customized help with major research projects. If you have an in-depth project, you can arrange for a virtual or in-person meeting with your subject librarian. Visit the "Ask-A-Librarian" page in our Research Help & Reference guide to find out more information, as well as how to get assistance when the reference desk is closed.

For Faculty

Faculty teaching at Biltmore Park may contact their subject librarian to schedule information literacy workshops.

Visit the For Faculty & Staff page for more information on library services for faculty and staff.
