The Race Card Project
The Race Card Project is a place where people share their personal experiences with race in the form of six-word essays.
Project Implicit- Bias Tests
The Implicit Association Test (IAT) measures attitudes and beliefs that people may be unwilling or unable to report. The IAT may be especially interesting if it shows that you have an implicit attitude that you did not know about. For example, you may believe that women and men should be equally associated with science, but your automatic associations could show that you (like many others) associate men with science more than you associate women with science.
Nonfiction Read and Respond Multi-Leveled Lesson
With this customizable lesson, students record their thinking to reveal comprehension of text. Choose one or more levels to differentiate, scaffold, and extend instruction using any nonfiction book.

A set of instructional videos paired with a simple assessment.
Summary, Analysis, Response: A Functional Approach to Reading, Understanding, and Responding to Nonfiction
This resource gives students a way to approach reading and responding to nonfiction without requiring them to write an essay. It is relatively formulaic but builds skills through scaffolding concepts and encouraging students to develop the confidence necessary to start reading critically and making arguments about the nonfiction they read.
Cultural Representation Reflection
One strategy to help our students discover a broader understanding of an inclusive society is for them to see what they might not have noticed before. These multi-leveled reflections encourage readers to pause and reflect on the cultural representation of characters, setting, and events in the books they read. Then they can compare, contrast, and develop a connection to their own culture while taking a deeper look at the representation of others.
