Compare the two infographics below!  The one on the left represents data and information using appropriate visualizations for the data.  The one on the right uses inaccurate, inappropriate, or just plain incorrect visualizations for the data being represented.  On the infographics, you can hover over the to read about why the visualization presented is appropriate (or not).  Also, please note that these infographics are a bit more text-heavy than you might see for marketing or entertainment purposes.
