Because newspapers serve as a regular (daily, weekly, etc.) record of events (often with eyewitness accounts or sources), they make excellent primary sources for your research. Keep in mind that they are also a snapshot of a time and place--they may use archaic (including racist) language, and they may include propaganda or exaggerated information. Be sure to pair these with secondary sources that provide more context and in-depth analysis of the events.
